College Park, MD Just Got a Little Brighter—Best Buddies Living Is Here
Best Buddies Living is coming to College Park, Maryland! Best Buddies Living, or BBL is an inclusive and innovative approach to independent living for adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Just walking distance from the University of Maryland, our members have the perfect opportunity to immerse themselves in campus life.
We’re thrilled to share a first look at our newest location through this special debut video featuring our programs in D.C.. In it, you’ll get a glimpse of the vibrant community we’re planning to build in College Park — complete with testimonials from residents, staff and families, group dinners, events and the 1:1 support from the Residential Manager. Take a moment to watch and celebrate this exciting new chapter with us!
College Park, Maryland is home to one of the twelve Best Buddies Living facilities across the United States. These facilities provide independent housing for individuals with and without IDD, continuing Best Buddies’ spirit of inclusivity. The College Park housing unit will be home to eight individuals, who will have access to individualized support through their residential manager. Each Best Buddies Living residential facility has a manager who helps members realize their goals, leading to a more independent lifestyle.
Best Buddies Living realizes that the tools to independent living, which some people gain naturally, are not always intuitive. Due to the hard work of each incredible BBL residential manager, members with IDD are able to navigate new tools like public transportation, budgeting, and job coaching for the first time. Jazz, a member of our BBL New Brunswick location, expressed appreciation for her residential manager Sean. In a recent interview, Jazz mentioned that since joining Best Buddies Living in March of 2025 Sean has helped her navigate cooking, budgeting, and even Graduate school. These are tools which will help Jazz, and other members of BBL achieve the independent life they deserve.
We believe that all members of Best Buddies Living will leave the program having achieved personal growth. Whether they gain independent living skills, or meaningful friendships, no one leaves Best Buddies Living empty handed.
