Building Community in Boca: Best Buddies Living Opens Its Doors
Best Buddies Living is making its way to Beautiful Boca Raton, Florida! Best Buddies Living is a program which strives to make independent living a reality for those with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, or IDD. By blending adults with and without IDD, Best Buddies Living is fostering an environment of friendship, inclusivity, and growth.
We’re thrilled to share a first look at our newest location through this special debut video featuring our programs in D.C.. In it, you’ll get a glimpse of the vibrant community we’re planning to build in Boca Raton — complete with testimonials from residents, staff and families, group dinners, events and the 1:1 support from the Residential Manager. Take a moment to watch and celebrate this exciting new chapter with us!
Composed of two four-bedroom apartments, the Boca Raton location is able to accommodate eight residents. While each unit is fully furnished and complete with amenities, the greatest perk BBL has to offer are by far the Residential Managers. Each of our 12 facilities has a residential manager who helps our members navigate the complexities of independent living. Jazz, a member from BBL New Brunswick shared that her residential manager, Sean has helped her with a variety of topics ranging from meal prep to school work. Our residential managers are the heart and soul of Best Buddies Living, making sure each member has the tools they need to succeed.
A key component to Best Buddies Living’s success is friendship. At BBL Boca Raton members will meet once a week for a complimentary group dinner where they will share the highs and lows of their week. BBL also hosts monthly activities, allowing members to get a feel for their new home. These events are crucial, helping our members branch into new emotional and physical territory.
Each member of Best Buddies Living leaves the program with something new. Whether it is with independent living skills, strong friendships, or both, everyone leaves Best Buddies Living as a better person.
