“Despite only having been formed last academic year, Brewer’s Best Buddies program won High School Chapter of the Year. The honor was awarded at the 2025 Best Buddies International Leadership Conference, where the two current co-presidents attended talks, classes and participated in fun learning exercises.

‘We had absolutely no idea,’ remarks Brewer High Special Education teacher and Best Buddies co-advisor Brandi Butterfield. ‘We just feel like we’ve had such a huge impact and that it’s such a special thing for our community.’ ”
