On June 10, 2025, Sun Communities welcomed nine enthusiastic participants from Best Buddies in Michigan for a powerful and inspiring Ambassadors Training. The event was more than a workshop—it was a day designed to equip individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) with tools for professional development and empowerment.

Hosted at Sun Communities’ headquarters, the training provided a dynamic blend of educational activities. The day kicked off with a behind-the-scenes tour of the Sun Communities office, giving buddies a first-hand look at a professional workplace environment. From the welcoming smiles of staff to the energizing Starbucks coffee generously provided, every detail made participants feel seen, celebrated, and supported.

Throughout the day, buddies participated in an engaging and interactive workshop focused on career readiness. Sessions included practical tips on interviewing, public speaking, and exploring future career paths. The activities encouraged participants to build confidence, advocate for themselves, and envision what is possible in an inclusive workforce.

A delicious lunch was provided, allowing time for networking and connection with Sun Communities team members. The training also happened to fall near the birthdays of two of our incredible buddies—Mady and Jacob—making the day even more special.

We are incredibly proud of each of our Ambassadors who showed up with courage, curiosity, and a commitment to learning. Watching them step into new roles, share their goals, and support one another was nothing short of inspiring.
